Role overview
Heritage Lifecare is seeking part-time caregivers for Stillwater Lifecare & Village in Nelson, Tasman. This is an opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of residents in a supportive, compassionate care setting.
Stillwater Lifecare & Village is a contemporary care home and hospital with 69 beds, along with a 43-unit village. The team is made up of people from many countries and welcomes colleagues from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Role details
This is a permanent part-time position of 30 hours per week. The role involves AM, PM, night, and weekend shifts. Four vacancies are available.
What the role involves
The successful applicants will support residents by delivering high-quality care with patience, kindness, and a positive attitude. The position calls for someone who can build rapport easily, bring warmth to interactions, and help maintain a caring and comfortable environment.
Skills and experience needed
Applicants should bring prior experience caring for others, preferably in an aged care setting. A minimum NZQA Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or an equivalent qualification from New Zealand or overseas, is required. Suitable examples mentioned include a Bachelor of Nursing or Diploma in Nursing. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities are important, along with a genuine desire to help people, good customer service skills, and a friendly outlook. A commitment to ongoing improvement and a solid understanding of health and safety practices are also expected.
