Role overview
Ryman Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Caregiver to join Charles Upham Retirement Village in Rangiora, about 30 minutes from Christchurch City. This opportunity is part of the Coverpool team and offers three full-time openings with a minimum of 30 hours per week. The roster runs from Thursday to Monday, and flexibility is needed to work across the Hospital, Resthome, Dementia, and Serviced Apartments, including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
In this position, you will provide supportive, meaningful care to residents while working with a friendly and diverse team in an environment where kindness, empathy, and professionalism matter.
What you will do
- Build trusted, long-term connections with residents and their families.
- Carry out individual care plans and deliver care to the standard you would want for your own loved ones.
- Use modern care technology, including Ryman's myRyman care app.
- Collaborate closely with teammates to maintain a positive and well-supported workplace.
Who we are looking for
To succeed in this role, you should bring warmth, compassion, strong communication, and a dependable, approachable, and professional manner. Experience in aged care is welcomed but not required.
Eligibility
Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand. While overseas candidates are sometimes considered, immigration rules require NZ work rights for this role.
