Role Overview
The Career Counselor will work with students and working professionals through both individual and group sessions, helping them explore career possibilities, choose appropriate academic routes, and create realistic plans for the future. The position includes administering career assessments, reviewing and explaining outcomes, supporting career exploration, and keeping counseling documentation accurate and up to date. The job also calls for partnership with educational institutions, planning workshops and seminars, and developing informational materials related to career growth and employability. This is a full-time, on-site role in Nagpur that requires consistent client interaction and coordination with internal teammates.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and group guidance to students and professionals on academic and career decisions.
- Administer career assessments and interpret the findings clearly for clients.
- Support individuals in exploring suitable career paths and setting achievable plans.
- Maintain detailed and accurate counseling records and related documentation.
- Work with schools, colleges, and other educational partners when needed.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and similar career-awareness initiatives.
- Prepare resource content that supports career planning and job readiness.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants are expected to bring a people-centered counseling approach, strong communication abilities, and familiarity with career guidance practices. A background in psychology, education, counseling, human resources, or a related discipline is preferred. The role also requires empathy, cultural awareness, and comfort using digital tools for scheduling, record-keeping, and online research. Experience with workshops, assessment tools, or educational/training settings will be an added advantage.
Additional Requirements
The candidate should be able to listen actively, communicate clearly, and write professionally. Prior exposure to student counseling and academic decision support is useful for success in this role. Basic digital literacy is needed for routine documentation and coordination tasks.
