Job description

About the Role

We are conducting a walk-in interview for the position of CAD Engineer specializing in Gas Path systems, specifically focusing on air intake and exhaust components, at Tata Technologies in Bangalore. Candidates will be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings while ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update 3D CAD models and assemblies for gas path components using CATIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE.
  • Create 2D technical drawings following automotive standards including correct GD&T and tolerances.
  • Work extensively on air intake and exhaust systems as well as associated mountings.
  • Assist in powertrain integration and vehicle-level packaging ensuring proper interfaces.
  • Conduct interference and clearance analysis along with verifying mass properties.
  • Implement engineering changes (ECR/ECO) throughout design phases from kickoff to start of production.
  • Ensure adherence to OEM CAD standards, best practices, and naming conventions for CAD data.
  • Collaborate with module leaders, systems engineers, and manufacturing teams for seamless design integration.
  • Participate in design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), design reviews, and prototype/vehicle assembly support.
  • Coordinate CAD data exchange and updates with suppliers, including quality verification.
  • Release finalized CAD data using PLM tools in accordance with project schedules.

Candidate Profile and Experience

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in automotive domain focusing on gas path system components.
  • Proven ability to support or lead design reviews and manage design changes efficiently within timelines.
  • Strong track record of timely CAD deliverables for styling, tool, and production releases.
  • In-depth understanding of commodity release and change management procedures.
  • Familiarity with prototype and production bill of materials (BOM).
  • Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5 and V6 for both 2D and 3D modeling.
  • Experience using PLM platforms such as TeamCenter.
  • Solid knowledge of GD&T principles.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Educational Qualifications

Candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a closely related field.

Additional Information - Interview Details

The walk-in interview is scheduled for Saturday, 1st August, from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Tata Technologies office located at Salarpuria Supreme, Munnekolalu Village, Bangalore South Taluk.

The selection process includes profile shortlisting at the venue, a technical interview, a tool proficiency test, and a human resources discussion.
