Role Overview

This position involves designing, developing, and maintaining critical components within a distributed platform that integrates high-performance storage, computation, and service modules. The platform processes vast structured time-series data sets using C++ underpinned by distributed system design, real-time streaming, RPC communication, and column-oriented on-disk storage to support data analytics workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and support core elements in distributed storage, computing, and service platforms, including storage engines, query execution, networking layers, and distributed coordination mechanisms like routing, partitioning, and replication.
• Collaborate with various research and engineering teams to convert data access, computational needs, and performance goals into actionable technical designs and implementations.
• Diagnose and fix production-level problems ranging from bugs affecting correctness to performance degradations.
• Engage in code reviews, system architecture design, feature creation, and deployment activities.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Minimum of two years professional software development experience.
• Strong grounding in data structures, algorithms, and system concepts such as memory management, concurrency, and input/output processing.
• Proficient in modern C++ (C++11 and above) with expertise in STL usage.
• Experienced with UNIX/Linux development environments.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted programming tools like Claude Code or OpenCode to boost development productivity.
• Effective communicator capable of working well within globally distributed teams.

Desirable Skills

• Python programming capability.
• Knowledge of distributed system principles including replication, sharding, and consensus algorithms.
• Experience working with query/compute engines or columnar analytical storage formats.
• Familiarity with RPC frameworks.
