Role overview

Over The Moon is seeking a Buying & Merchandising Intern to support the buying and merchandising function with day-to-day administrative, operational, and product-management work. This position is well suited to someone who is highly detail-focused and genuinely interested in retail, fashion, e-commerce, and how product assortments are planned and maintained.

What you'll do

  • Load new product drops into Shopify and marketplace systems, making sure information is accurate and completed on time.
  • Support product setup tasks such as data entry, uploading images, resizing visuals, and keeping brand presentation consistent across all online channels.
  • Organize product tags and attributes to improve site navigation, search performance, and merchandising execution.
  • Keep assortment records up to date, including price changes, SKU modifications, inventory status adjustments, and removal or archiving of discontinued items.
  • Assist with merchandising and assortment-related projects to ensure product data stays clean, current, and well structured.
  • Research new brands, industry trends, and market opportunities, then share insights and collection ideas with the Buying & Merchandising team.
  • Help with reporting, assortment analysis, and other ad hoc tasks that support departmental objectives.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate brings strong organizational ability, careful attention to detail, and the confidence to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team setting. A solid analytical approach and a genuine interest in retail, merchandising, and e-commerce are important for success in this role.

Tools and experience

You should be comfortable working in Google Workspace, especially Google Sheets, as well as Microsoft Excel. Practical knowledge of formulas and VLOOKUPs is required. Experience with Shopify, Canva, and Adobe Photoshop would be an advantage.

Additional traits

The team is looking for someone who is energetic, self-driven, and excited to learn in a fast-moving retail environment.
