About the Role
This is a full-time buyer position with a manufacturing company in Brampton, Ontario. The role is entirely on-site and suits a procurement professional who can combine strategic sourcing with day-to-day purchasing execution. You will help ensure production materials are available when needed while also improving supplier performance and procurement processes.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will partner with teams in manufacturing, engineering, planning, sales, and operations to support business goals and keep the supply chain dependable. The environment is fast-moving and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on supplier relationships and continuous improvement.
Work Location and Language
This position is based in Brampton, ON and requires fully onsite attendance. Professional written and spoken English communication is required.

What You’ll Do
- Identify, source, and secure materials needed for custom manufacturing operations so production can stay on schedule.
- Create sourcing approaches, locate niche suppliers, and support supplier evaluation and selection.
- Handle negotiations on pricing, contracts, terms, and agreements to support quality, cost, inventory, and delivery targets.
- Work with cross-functional teams to forecast procurement needs and address supply chain issues before they escalate.
- Track supplier quality and delivery results, take part in corrective action efforts, and contribute to ongoing improvement work.
- Review inventory data, demand forecasts, supplier performance indicators, and savings opportunities, then prepare procurement-related reports.
- Manage purchasing activities in ERP/MRP platforms, expedite materials when needed, and assist with product lifecycle and change management.

Candidate Profile

Requirements
- At least 5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with custom or engineered products.
- A bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a similar field.
- Proven experience identifying specialized suppliers and managing supplier relationships.
- Solid knowledge of procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, and purchasing best practices.
- Experience in a technical or engineering-oriented manufacturing setting.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, advanced Microsoft Excel, and other business software.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
