Job description

Role summary

The Buyer is responsible for handling everyday purchasing activity, including creating and processing purchase orders. The role ensures that products and services are delivered to internal stakeholders such as requisitioners and factories. In some situations, the position also covers local supplier sourcing, supplier selection, pricing discussions, and contract administration. The Buyer works closely with the local business and procurement leadership to support a centralized supply and supplier model.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out purchasing activities in line with required lead times, minimum order quantities, and other compliance rules to reduce stock shortages.
  • Manage purchase orders from request initiation through goods receipt, following ERP/MRP processes and customer requirements.
  • Source goods and services at the right time, in the correct quantity, and at competitive pricing to support business needs.
  • Maintain the systems and procedures used to manage procurement from approved suppliers, balancing cost, quality, and delivery expectations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams on price updates, ensuring changes are communicated with sufficient notice.
  • Track supplier quality issues and work to secure corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collect, review, and share procurement-related data and insights.
  • Monitor inventory levels proactively and support actions to optimize stock.
  • Build and sustain long-term supplier relationships that encourage feedback and ongoing improvement.
  • Respond promptly to supplier questions and actively manage supplier communications.
  • Participate in supplier assessments, scorecards, and business reviews.
  • Follow the 3-quote process or approved exemption requirements for indirect and region-based purchasing.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across procurement processes.
  • Complete other procurement-related tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain professional, ethical supplier relationships in line with company standards of conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong negotiation abilities and solid working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle and/or SAP is required.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-moving work environment.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area.

The role focuses on maintaining compliant procurement practices, supporting internal customers, strengthening supplier partnerships, and improving purchasing efficiency across the organization.
