Job description
About the Role
This is a strategic position partnering directly with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at a rapidly growing Series A fintech company. The company is building a comprehensive financial operating system tailored for service-based small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). You will be instrumental in tackling high-priority challenges, particularly during a significant expansion into accounts payable and AI-driven analytics. This role offers a unique blend of financial modeling, process automation, and cross-functional leadership aimed at scaling operations and refining the money-movement infrastructure for numerous service businesses.
Why This Role is Remarkable
- Gain direct mentorship from a COO with a strong background from prestigious firms like Houlihan Lokey, H.I.G. Capital, and Rothschild, providing a clear path from finance expertise to startup leadership.
- Contribute to scaling a $22M Series A platform at a pivotal growth stage as it evolves from accounts receivable solutions to a complete financial operating system for SMBs.
- Integrate advanced AI tools, such as Claude Code and Cursor, into daily workflows, enabling faster progress compared to traditional finance and operations environments.
What You Will Do
- Develop sophisticated financial models and interactive dashboards to support executive decision-making and meticulously track high-volume payment activities.
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies within operational processes, then design and implement custom automations or Minimum Change Proposals (MCPs) to eliminate repetitive tasks across sales and customer success teams.
- Spearhead strategic initiatives and critical special projects directly for the leadership team, focusing on enhancing cost efficiency and mitigating financial risks.
The Ideal Candidate
- Possess 2-5 years of experience in investment banking or private equity, demonstrating a robust understanding of financial modeling and the ability to rigorously test assumptions.
- Exhibit strong technical curiosity, a keen interest in AI prompting, and a proactive approach to embedding automation into fundamental business processes.
- Demonstrate a proven capacity to work autonomously in dynamic, fast-paced settings, driven by a bias for action and an unwavering commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes.
