The Manufacturing Business Manager plays a strategic leadership role, partnering with the Manufacturing Leadership Team to translate business strategies into actionable sales and delivery plans. This person ensures the smooth coordination between sales targets and production schedules to meet quarterly and annual delivery goals, enhancing the overall performance and success of New Flyer's manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as liaison between senior management and operational teams to align corporate goals.
- Manage and oversee planning processes for weekly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives, maintaining detailed exit and signature target plans.
- Ensure all manufacturing sites meet their weekly delivery and sales targets, developing recovery strategies if needed.
- Communicate approved delivery schedules clearly to internal and external stakeholders, adjusting monthly labor forecasts according to the master production schedule.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive operational reports on weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis for internal stakeholders.
- Motivate and lead manufacturing teams towards achieving set quarter and year-end delivery targets.
- Collaborate internally to develop optimal detailed line entry schedules.
- Provide leadership and oversight to a team of analysts, driving organizational excellence.
- Monitor daily production status, proactively addressing any issues affecting sales and manufacturing performance.
- Lead continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing manufacturing processes.
- Regularly update executive leadership on manufacturing outcomes and performance metrics.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational capabilities with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated initiative in driving process improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle MRP or comparable ERP systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20% as required.
- Effective performance skills in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
