About the Role
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for the position of Business Manager within Academic Affairs. Reporting to the Director of Business and Finance for Academic Affairs, this role is integral to the central Academic Affairs Business and Finance team, overseeing comprehensive business, finance, and human capital management functions for Lifelong Learning, Leaderverse, and the Sands Institute for Chinese Language and Culture. This position supports operations under the Executive Director of Lifelong Learning and is responsible for strategic planning, resource management, reporting, and implementation of Lifelong Learning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between college and unit business officers, finance managers, and Lifelong Learning leadership to facilitate collaboration across programs.
- Oversee department HR and personnel processes, including budgeting, recruitment, hiring, termination, and personnel management.
- Manage and update budgets, monitor finances, and ensure procedural compliance adhering to university policies.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant Academic Affairs, university, Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), state, and federal regulations and budgetary policies.
- Coordinate and manage budgeting, purchasing, travel, and financial activities using systems such as Workday and Student Manager.
- Provide senior leadership with timely and accurate reports and data support.
- Occasionally work evenings or weekends and travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution recognized by USDE or CHEA.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, business management, finance, or related fields preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of supervisory and management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution highly preferred.
- 5 to 7 years relevant experience in accounting, business management, or finance preferred.
- 3 to 5 years supervisory and management experience.
- Demonstrated experience with higher education budgeting.
- Capability to handle multiple concurrent projects with overlapping deadlines effectively.
