Job description
Overview
Become an integral part of the Detroit Pistons team, where your efforts will contribute significantly both on and off the basketball court. Our organization leverages basketball to foster community unity, engage fans, and create enduring positive impacts across Detroit.
In the role of Business Development Executive, you will promote and sell a diverse range of ticketing products at Little Caesars Arena. Your primary focus will include season ticket and partial ticket plans across all venues. Additional sales responsibilities cover Pistons Group packages, hospitality offerings, single event suite rentals, and long-term suite leasing. This position seeks an ambitious and experienced sales professional who leads by example, maintains robust business networks, upholds professionalism, and actively identifies opportunities to enhance revenue. We value candidates who embody our core principles and share a dedication to community engagement.
Key Duties
- Drive sales of new full, partial, and group outing ticket packages alongside single game suite rentals and annual suite leases directed toward both business clients and consumers for Pistons games and other non-basketball events.
- Foster and manage ongoing relationships with existing clients to encourage renewals and upselling prospects.
- Consistently meet or surpass weekly, monthly, and yearly sales targets.
- Deploy effective outbound sales strategies, including prospecting, networking, lead generation, collecting referrals, and maintaining accurate personal sales databases.
- Make a predefined number of daily outbound calls aimed at generating business, and secure a minimum number of weekly face-to-face meetings both in the arena and externally to explore new sales opportunities.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all ticket purchasers, regardless of purchase scale.
- Develop and execute innovative sales tactics and programs to unearth new business avenues.
- Enhance team dynamics by nurturing supportive and productive relationships with colleagues in the sales department.
- Engage actively in regular sales team meetings and training activities.
- Participate in at least one targeted professional networking group to cultivate new business leads.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of proven sales success across any industry; having an established client network within the Detroit Metropolitan area is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong digital skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and aptitude for quickly mastering new software applications such as CRM platforms (Microsoft Dynamics) and ticketing systems (Ticketmaster Archtics).
- Capability to navigate the arena environment, visit clients during home games, and conduct seat tours showcasing various seating and facility options on both game and non-game days.
- Willingness and availability to work flexible schedules that include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
