About the Company

This role is with a well-established and successful large New Zealand company operating in a complex commercial environment. The Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Commercial and Strategy Business Partner collaborates closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to convert strategy into actionable projects. You will partner with key leaders to transform priorities into clear plans, business cases, and tangible outcomes across the organisation. This role has broad scope; tasks can range from developing enterprise-level business cases, leading pricing reviews, coordinating cross-functional teams, to preparing executive and Board materials. There are no direct reports; influence depends on superior analytical thinking and the ability to engage stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating, reviewing, and executing company strategy
  • Lead and manage strategic projects initiated by the CEO and executive team
  • Develop business cases, strategic advice, and materials for executive decisions
  • Perform research, data analysis, and market assessments to identify opportunities and risks
  • Lead a strategic evaluation of the organisation's pricing approaches
  • Monitor progress against strategic goals, milestones, risks, and benefits realization
  • Prepare briefing documents, presentations, and reports for executive and Board meetings
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and support change management and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-secondary qualification in business, commerce, economics, science, or a related field
  • Experience in management consulting or project/program management within a large, complex organisation preferred
  • Strong commercial insight with ability to link analysis to business outcomes
  • Proven track record delivering cross-functional projects on time, scope, and benefit
  • Data-driven and analytical, capable of underpinning recommendations with financials
  • Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders confidently and hold accountability
  • Experience with change management, transformation, or pricing considered advantageous
  • Resilience, curiosity, and comfort operating in ambiguous environments
