Business Data Analyst

Overview

This role focuses on acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to define and analyze business requirements and data. The analyst will collaborate closely across functions to improve data-driven decision-making and process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business leaders to gather, analyze, and document requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
• Use SQL and Excel extensively to analyze datasets, validate accuracy, and identify meaningful trends to drive business insights.
• Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports leveraging tools like Power BI or Tableau to inform strategic decisions.
• Perform detailed data profiling, validation, and source-to-target mappings to support data migration and ETL processes.
• Engage with Product Owners, Developers, QA, and Data Engineers throughout the Agile software development lifecycle.
• Plan and execute User Acceptance Testing including test case validation, defect tracking, and ensuring requirements are met prior to release.
• Support governance activities around data quality, metadata, and maintain accurate documentation using Jira and Confluence platforms.
• Work with cross-functional teams to discover areas for process improvements and recommend actionable, data-backed solutions.
• Preferred experience includes working with cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, or Azure.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders, manage expectations effectively, and solve problems by bridging business needs with technical implementation.
