Job Overview
Alpha Business Solutions is seeking a Business Analyst to contribute to oncology data projects that encompass data lake capabilities, computational workflows, and technology-enabled solutions. This position involves collaboration with business, scientific, and technical teams to elicit requirements, enhance processes, and support the delivery of data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, document, and maintain business requirements effectively.
- Collaborate with business users, technical teams, and stakeholders to outline comprehensive solutions.
- Convert business needs into detailed user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Provide support for oncology data platforms, computational workflows, and associated data initiatives.
- Evaluate business processes, identify deficiencies, and suggest enhancements.
- Lead meetings, workshops, and discussions focused on requirements gathering.
- Assist agile teams through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and other scrum activities.
- Support testing phases including validation and user acceptance testing.
- Create and update process documentation and other business artifacts.
- Facilitate change management and encourage adoption of new systems and procedures.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, particularly in requirement gathering and documentation.
- Strong ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and management capabilities.
- Familiar with Agile/Scrum and software development lifecycle methodologies.
- Competent in process mapping and gap analysis techniques.
- Skilled in data analysis and translating insights into actionable business decisions.
- Proficient with tools including JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the Pharma or Life Sciences sectors.
- Background in oncology or healthcare-related data environments.
- Knowledge of data platforms, data lakes, and analytics projects.
- Familiarity with computational or bioinformatics workflows.
- Experience working with scientific data portals such as cBioPortal.

Education
