Business Analyst

Overview

The Enterprise Data Lake division is looking for a Business Analyst to serve as the crucial link between business stakeholders and technical teams. This role involves gathering, analyzing, and documenting detailed business requirements while profiling source data to facilitate data modelers and engineers with clear and actionable insights, ensuring smooth project delivery.

Core Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and document business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process workflows.
• Lead the Source Discovery procedure by profiling source data, identifying primary keys and business concepts, and producing comprehensive documentation for handoff to data modelers.
• Convert business needs into well-defined and testable requirements to aid development and delivery teams.
• Prepare and manage Jira stories, spikes, and all relevant project documentation.
• Serve as a communication facilitator among stakeholders, Product Owners, and technical teams.
• Use SQL for detailed data analysis to validate source data requirements.
• Assist in gap analysis, user acceptance testing (UAT), and the maintenance of requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Document meeting outcomes, monitor action items, and track resolution of open issues.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst focused on gathering and documenting business requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with proficiency in translating business needs into technical specifications.
• Hands-on experience in SQL-based data analysis.
• Familiarity with Agile project management, user stories, and Jira tools.
• Excellent communication, organizational skills, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Capacity to work independently in a client-oriented consulting environment.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working with Databricks and Azure cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of enterprise data platforms, data lakes, or data warehousing solutions.
• Background working with utility, billing, customer, or account-related data sets.
