Business Analyst

Role overview

This contract Business Analyst position is based in Burlingame, California and focuses on demand forecasting for VR headset and wearable product lines. The role centers on building and maintaining sell-through and sell-in forecasts, working closely with sales and channel operations, and turning performance data into clear business insights for leadership. Compensation

The hourly pay rate for this role is $55.00 to $60.00. As a non-exempt position, overtime may be paid at 1.5 times the hourly base rate for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek, or as otherwise required by applicable law.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside sales account managers, category managers, data analysts, and business unit marketing teams to improve demand planning accuracy and surface growth opportunities using strong forecast models.
• Develop bottom-up sell-through and sell-in forecasts using a mix of quantitative and qualitative data, then share period-over-period results with business leaders.
• Monitor and project weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance for hero products and accessory hardware within AR/VR.
• Analyze actual results against forecasts and targets, identify the reasons behind performance gaps, and recommend mitigation steps.
• Communicate forecasting assumptions and the expected impact of strategic actions to a wider set of stakeholders.
• Improve forecast accuracy by applying tools and methods that evaluate large datasets, uncover patterns and relationships, and support future outlooks.
• Partner with channel operations teams to influence production and launch-related decisions.
• Present findings and recommendations in business reviews with senior leaders.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience forecasting demand for hardware products, including accessories.
• At least 6 years of experience in business strategy, finance, analytics, or sales planning.
• Hands-on experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace tools.
• Strong willingness to get into the details and complete the work directly.
