Business Analyst - Contract

About the Organisation

This opportunity is with a long-standing New Zealand business that operates across several entities and has a substantial nationwide presence. The organisation is currently delivering a major transformation agenda aimed at upgrading systems, strengthening connectivity, and increasing automation across its technology environment.

You will be part of a cooperative delivery team, partnering with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and vendors to help move key change initiatives forward.

The Opportunity

This is a 4-day-per-week contract role, giving you a 3-day weekend each week, and it runs for 6 months.

The position is centred on integration and connectivity work, with a focus on improving the way systems and business processes work together across the organisation and with external partners.

What You Will Do

• Collect, analyse, and document both functional and non-functional needs for system and integration projects.
• Work with business users and outside stakeholders to understand workflows, business rules, and data needs.
• Run workshops to confirm requirements and agree on future-state solutions.
• Help define data mappings and design how systems will interact across multiple platforms.
• Support testing efforts, including system integration testing and user acceptance testing, as well as end-to-end workflow checks.
• Track and manage risks, dependencies, and delivery issues throughout the project.
• Assist with process improvement activities and assess the impact of changes on users and operations.
• Support deployment activities, including pilot releases and ongoing refinement after launch.

What You Need to Bring

We are seeking a delivery-oriented Business Analyst who is confident working with many different stakeholders in a busy environment.

• Demonstrated background in business analysis within transformation or technology programmes.
• Hands-on experience with system integration or cross-platform initiatives.
• Strong ability to engage stakeholders and facilitate productive workshops.
• Capability to turn complex needs into clear, structured documentation.
• Experience assisting with testing phases and the wider delivery lifecycle.
• Well-developed planning, organisation, and detail-oriented working style.
• Experience in complex or regulated settings would be an advantage.
• A proactive, self-managing approach and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
