Business Analyst – Client Experience & Onboarding

Overview

This is a contract position lasting up to 12 months, located onsite in Melbourne / Naarm or Sydney / Gadigal. The role focuses on enhancing client onboarding and experience by simplifying risk assessment pathways using AI and automation, with an emphasis on balancing risk integrity and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyse both global and local policies, risk questionnaires, controls, decision criteria, and approval processes throughout the client engagement lifecycle to identify redundancies, complexities, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Examine risk assessment needs, governance requirements, and decision points to help design risk pathways that are efficient, compliant, and aligned with risk appetite.
• Collaborate with risk, compliance, and business teams to gather, validate, and convert risk and compliance needs into clear business rules, process specifications, and future process designs.
• Contribute to developing future risk assessment models, decision trees, workflows, and governance frameworks that enhance operational efficiency without compromising risk oversight.
• Identify and suggest standardization opportunities for risk data input, simplify questionnaires, and reduce redundant reviews through risk-proportionate methodologies.
• Assist in testing, validating, and implementing redesigned risk assessment processes, ensuring that they function as intended and deliver the targeted business and risk results.
• Prepare detailed analysis documents, business requirement specifications, and risk-related documentation to support smooth implementation of future-state processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A solid track record in delivering business transformation, process improvement, or risk-related change projects within complex stakeholder environments.
• Skilled in interpreting policies, risk controls, and compliance frameworks, and translating these into actionable business requirements and governance structures.
• Proven ability to engage and build trust with senior executives and diverse stakeholders to align on risk and client onboarding strategies.
• Experienced in mapping and redesigning client onboarding processes with a focus on risk assessment workflows.
• Strong analytical capabilities to detect patterns, risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement across processes, systems, and stakeholder input.

Preferred Skills

• Experience facilitating working groups to elicit stakeholder consensus, including the use of whiteboarding and visual collaboration techniques.
• Familiarity with enterprise risk management platforms and technology suites such as Salesforce, with an understanding of their integration and business process impacts.
