Join the London Borough of Hounslow, a council dedicated to delivering excellent services to its residents and enhancing community well-being. Serving one of London's most diverse boroughs, Hounslow prides itself on visionary leadership, a proactive Cabinet, and strong partnerships that drive service transformation. The borough is rich in diversity and full of opportunities.
Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
We uphold five core values: Lead with Heart, Do New, Pass on the Power, Harness the Mix, and Be a Rock. Central to our approach is "Harness the Mix," which emphasizes breaking down barriers to tap into the diverse ideas and talents of our workforce and community. We are proud to serve a varied population, maintain a diverse workforce, and foster an inclusive employment environment. We actively build representation within our workforce and leadership, support employee networks, and provide learning and development programs focused on eliminating inequality, bias, and injustice. As a Disability Confident Employer, we offer reasonable adjustments to accommodate applicants throughout the recruitment process.
About the Role
This apprenticeship position is part of the Digital and IT team, focusing on user experience (UX) and service design tasks to enhance council services and support the Digital Strategy’s delivery. The apprentice will acquire and apply business analysis methods such as user research, mapping processes, collecting requirements, redesigning services, and testing new digital solutions. Formal training will be provided via an external learning provider as part of a structured apprenticeship curriculum.
The Team
You will collaborate closely with analysts, researchers, designers, and developers involved in projects that prioritize residents' needs to improve services. The role offers professional skill development supported by structured apprenticeship training under the guidance of the Business Analysis Lead.

Essential qualities include enthusiasm for technology, keen attention to detail, customer-centric mindset, problem-solving skills, and dedication to continuous learning and innovation. The ability to balance study and work while quickly absorbing substantial information is key. The role requires a minimum of two days per week onsite at Hounslow House.
