Role overview
The Brand Manager will help steer Steve Madden’s shift from a footwear-focused business into a broader lifestyle brand, including work tied to Madden Girl and Madden NYC. This role operates where product, marketing, creative direction, and partnerships meet, with a focus on brand narrative and growth initiatives that strengthen cultural relevance and commercial results. The position is located in the LIC office and requires working onsite.
What you will do
- Act as the main link between marketing, creative, merchandising, e-commerce, and wholesale teams
- Own schedules, deliverables, and execution with strong organization and a sense of urgency
- Work flexibly and proactively in a fast-moving, solution-focused environment
- Spot, build, and roll out brand collaborations that create excitement and attract new customers
- Coordinate with collaborators to keep everyone aligned from early concept through launch
- Handle several projects and deadlines at once, using support and resources where needed
- Take on additional duties and special assignments as required
Core skills and qualifications
- Strong ability to judge trends, brand tone, and visual storytelling across channels
- Solid project management capability, including timeline ownership and cross-functional coordination
- Comfort working quickly and adjusting priorities in a deadline-driven setting
- Good understanding of fashion trends, shopper behavior, and the competitive market
- Hands-on experience creating and launching brand collaborations from idea stage to completion
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams and outside partners
- Ability to find culturally relevant partners that build brand excitement and bring in new customers
- Excellent communication and teamwork across marketing, creative, merchandising, and sales
- Highly organized with close attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- At least 5–8+ years of experience in brand management, marketing, or a related field, preferably in fashion or retail
- Clear understanding of how product, storytelling, and commerce work together
- Background working on collaborations, partnerships, or integrated campaigns
- Strong enthusiasm for fashion, trends, and culture
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives at once and deliver under tight deadlines
Compensation and benefits
The expected base pay for this role is $110,000 to $120,000 annually. The final offer may vary depending on relevant skills, training, years of experience related to the role, education, and company structure.
