Job description
About Bastion
Bastion is a developer of regulated financial infrastructure aimed at modern businesses, offering a comprehensive product suite that includes stablecoin issuance, custodial wallet solutions, and global asset conversion capabilities. These can be utilized individually or as an integrated end-to-end solution. Bastion operates under compliance-first principles with a regulated foundation that emphasizes risk management and security in all financial transactions. The company has the necessary licenses for its own operations and can also support customers' compliance and financial operations under their licenses.
Overview
The company is seeking a Brand and Communications Lead to elevate Bastion's visibility among relevant institutions. With a strong product-market fit, prominent enterprise clients, and a regulated trust charter, Bastion needs to enhance its market presence to align with its business strengths.
The role involves overseeing the company's positioning and public image, including messaging, visual identity, press relations, executive visibility, industry connections, and targeted marketing campaigns. The goal is to build trust, attract the right clientele, and influence market perceptions of financial infrastructure's future.
The Brand and Communications Lead will work closely with the CEO to develop Bastion’s voice and visibility. Experience in fintech or financial services is highly valued due to the importance of credibility and precision in this sector. While based preferably in New York City, the position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement.
Initial 60 Days Objectives
Success will be measured by achieving clear impact rapidly and independently within the first two months:
- First 15 Days: Gain deep understanding of Bastion’s products, customers, regulatory positioning, and competitive landscape, analyze customer acquisition and sales narratives, audit current brand presence including website and content, and deliver meaningful contributions in the first week.
- By 30 Days: Define priority audiences, messaging, and communication channels; establish a scalable content production process using AI and contractors; enhance Bastion’s public presence including social media and website; develop a pipeline for press and events; align communications with Product, Legal, and Compliance teams; launch initial targeted campaigns; and begin measuring the effectiveness via qualified inbound leads and pipeline impact.
- By 60 Days: Own Bastion’s brand positioning and communications schedule, maintain regular high-quality company communications, secure press coverage and speaking engagements with a sustainable pipeline, implement targeted campaigns reaching decision-makers, collaborate closely with sales to refine messaging and track influence, operate independently with sound judgment, and demonstrate growth in qualified inbound leads and pipeline influence.
Challenges to Address
- Establishing brand awareness from the ground up without pre-existing frameworks, requiring rapid decision-making, testing, and refinement.
- Creating a significant market breakthrough to expand Bastion’s recognition beyond its current network to key institutions, journalists, partners, and talent.
- Securing press coverage in a competitive space dominated by large, well-known companies by finding unique newsworthy angles and building strong media relationships.
- Communicating effectively to a diverse client base including Fortune 500 firms, financial institutions, fintechs, and stablecoin-focused companies, adapting messaging appropriately without fragmenting the core brand story.
- Functioning effectively as a single-member team expected to deliver impact equivalent to a larger team by leveraging AI tools and contractors while maintaining high-quality outputs in a sensitive environment.

The company adheres to laws prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, genetics, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other protected category.
