Role Overview
This branch leadership role is focused on guiding day-to-day operations so the location consistently delivers excellent customer service, reaches performance targets, attracts and retains strong team members, and supports employee development. A successful candidate will help the branch grow while maintaining profitability, compliance, and a positive customer experience.

Primary Responsibilities
- Align branch employees with company-wide and branch-specific goals so the team works toward the same outcomes.
- Drive the branch to consistently meet and surpass performance goals and move toward the next branch tier.
- Visit prospective business clients outside the bank to build new relationships and generate business.
- Understand the bank’s products and services well enough to coach staff on cross-selling and customer guidance.
- Stay informed about competitor offerings, promotions, and branch practices so informed market recommendations can be made.
- Work with marketing to support sales campaigns, product promotion, and a professional branch appearance.
- Open deposit accounts of all types and explain related services and fees when needed.
- Interview loan applicants and approve credit within lending authority for commercial, mortgage, and consumer loans, while escalating larger requests to senior leadership.
- Follow loan rules and procedures outlined in the bank’s policy manual.
- Keep communication flowing with branch supervisors so required daily, weekly, and monthly operational and productivity reports are completed on time.
- Ensure employee objectives, reviews, and HR-related documents are prepared, shared, and reviewed promptly.
- Recruit, select, develop, and retain branch employees as needed.
- Run weekly sales meetings covering products, branch growth, sales targets, and overall profitability.
- Manage salary and staffing expenses to maintain branch efficiency.
- Enforce branch security rules in line with the bank’s security policy.
- Safeguard customer records according to the security and retention schedule.
- Handle customer questions and complaints quickly and effectively.
- Participate in community, networking, and banking events that support business development, including events held before or after standard working hours.
- Adjust work schedules when needed to meet staffing and service needs.
- Complete mandatory and elective training, including Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering instruction, and remain compliant with all relevant rules and regulations.
- Take on other assigned duties as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required; a college degree is preferred.
- NMLS certification is required, or it must be obtained after hire.
- At least 3 years of experience as a branch manager or in an equivalent management role is needed; prior banking management experience is preferred.
- Candidates should be comfortable using calculators, phones, office equipment, computers, and related software.
- Ability to contact vendors for branch maintenance issues is required.
- Applicants should be able to follow up with customers regarding troubleshooting, rate questions, complaints, and suggestions.
