Role overview

This role is responsible for running the assigned branch with strong planning, resource management, and sales leadership. The goal is to deliver the branch’s business targets while growing market share and brand presence in a cost-efficient way.

Key challenges

  • Operating effectively in a market where unfair sales practices may exist.
  • Keeping high-performing sales advisors engaged in a highly competitive environment.
  • Maintaining the quality of newly recruited advisors when direct one-to-one interaction with every hire is not always possible.

Core accountabilities

  • Design branch-level sales plans and deliver business outcomes such as agent count, productivity, fresh premium, and business persistency.
  • Study market trends, competition, and growth opportunities, then coordinate branch plans with the head office.
  • Use the right product mix, identify potential customers, run contests, and provide investment advisory support to strengthen sales performance.
  • Execute plans effectively and track progress to ensure targets are met.
  • Improve field-force productivity through consistent people management and capability building.
  • Arrange regular advisor training and share the latest company updates with them.
  • Discuss promotional infrastructure, review competition status, activisation, and club membership progress with advisors.
  • Build strong work habits, run productivity improvement initiatives, and organize focused training programs.
  • Protect business persistency through quality review checks on sourced business.
  • Ensure post-sales servicing is completed properly so customers remain engaged.
  • Maintain financial discipline by controlling branch cash handling and monitoring expenses.
  • Keep capital and operating spending within approved budgets.
  • Ensure full compliance so branch operations continue smoothly and productively.
  • Monitor process adherence at branch level.
  • Keep the sales and operations teams updated on underwriting, IRDA guidelines, and process changes.
  • Plan and execute sales and recruitment promotions to support business numbers.
  • Work with head office teams to implement centralized initiatives.
  • Make sure promotion efforts reach both current and prospective customers.
  • Review customer feedback on products, services, processes, and people, and recommend improvements.
  • Oversee day-to-day branch administration to keep operations smooth and economical.
  • Lead team development through continuous on-the-job coaching and skill-building.
  • Mentor, supervise, and coach team members.
  • Arrange both on-the-job and classroom learning for capability enhancement.
  • Support periodic job rotation so team members gain wider exposure.
