Role overview
This opportunity is for a commercially aware Bid Manager with roughly three years of experience, preferably gained in software solutions or services. The position supports the sales function by coordinating the creation of proposals, bids, and supporting sales material that present MRI’s products and services clearly and persuasively in response to client requirements.
The role is highly collaborative and involves working across sales, presales, marketing, finance, legal, product, and other internal teams to make sure responses are accurate, well-organised, and submitted on schedule. You will also have exposure to customer feedback and prospect questions, helping shape future product direction.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and support the bid process and its governance structure.
- Assist with bid qualification, including input into bid/no-bid decisions.
- Handle framework applications, submissions, and related reporting.
- Organise the preparation and delivery of polished, high-quality bid responses within agreed timelines across products and solutions.
- Work with virtual bid teams and collect input from stakeholders such as sales, marketing, pre-sales, product specialists, finance, HR, legal, and delivery teams.
- Help contributors understand expectations and meet agreed deadlines.
- Support the drafting and review of commercial sections of bids.
- Contribute to written proposals, including executive and management summaries.
- Maintain the bid library with standard answers, policies, case studies, and supporting content.
- Use bid automation tools to improve content reuse and strengthen bid quality and efficiency over time.
- Develop and maintain a solid understanding of MRI’s solutions and the markets served.
- Partner closely with internal functions including Marketing, Development, and Implementation.
- Be open to occasional domestic and international travel, including overnight stays.
Requirements
- Approximately 3 or more years of bid management experience, ideally covering the full journey from qualification to submission and handover.
- Experience in software solutions and/or services is strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to engage stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
- Commercial mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing and presentations.
- Ability to manage priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Comfort engaging with senior stakeholders when needed, with appropriate support.
- Self-driven, organised, and eager to learn and grow.
- Capable of working independently while being part of a wider team.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com.
- Experience with bid automation tools such as Loopio is helpful but not mandatory.
