Role overview

Signet Jewelers is hiring for its Field Design & Service Center team in the Greater Corpus Christi area. This opportunity is open to both new and experienced jewelers, with room to progress from apprentice-level work to advanced bench craftsmanship in a promotion-focused environment.

The position supports jewelry restoration, repair, and custom creation, with an emphasis on delivering a customer-first experience. Depending on your current experience, you may handle tasks such as administrative support, polishing, stone setting, repair work, and more advanced artisan-level bench work.

Training programs and ongoing learning are part of the role, helping team members build their technical skills and advance from entry level toward experienced jeweler responsibilities.

Key work areas

  • Support jewelry restoration and repair work to bring pieces back to their original appearance.
  • Contribute to custom jewelry design and creation when your skill level allows.
  • Provide service that focuses on customer expectations and quality workmanship.
  • Take on apprentice duties such as administrative or clerical tasks and jewelry polishing, if applicable.
  • Work within a team environment that encourages internal growth and advancement.

Technical skills and tasks

  • Repairing chains and clasps.
  • Retipping prongs.
  • Setting stones.
  • Building stone mountings.
  • Performing channel rebuilds and platinum rebuilds.
  • Handling minor ring repairs and other jewelry repairs.
  • Wax carving.
  • Fabrication.
  • Casting.
  • Creating custom pieces.
  • Working with CAD/CAM design tools.

Position expectations

  • Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, though it is not mandatory.
  • Experience of 1 to 3 years as a bench jeweler or in a closely related skilled trade working with fine metals is preferred.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a bench test that evaluates current jeweler skill level.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail are important.
  • A customer-service mindset and commitment to high-quality results are expected.
  • Basic computer literacy is required.
  • The schedule may include variable hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • This is a full-time role based on a 40-hour workweek, with seasonal overtime as needed.
