Our commitment is to deliver high-caliber, evidence-based therapies tailored for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental challenges.

Position Overview

We are actively looking for a dedicated and passionate Behavioural Therapy Assistant to collaborate with a family located in Stafford Heights. This role involves working three sessions weekly, specifically:

  • Tuesday from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
  • Wednesday from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
  • Friday from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized 1:1 therapeutic support to clients across diverse environments such as home, clinic, and school settings.
  • Assist clients in enhancing communication abilities, social interaction skills, and emotional self-regulation.
  • Gather and document data related to client progress for monitoring developmental milestones and identifying areas needing support.
  • Create and maintain an encouraging atmosphere that motivates client engagement and participation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Currently pursuing or completed a degree or certificate in Psychology, Disability Studies, Education, Occupational Therapy, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children is highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities are essential.
  • A genuine enthusiasm to support individuals in achieving their personal best.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Possession or readiness to obtain a Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check.
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module titled "Quality, Safety and You".
  • Valid Australian driver's license along with access to a personal vehicle.
  • Use of a personal laptop or iPad is required during shifts.

Recruitment Process

Candidates who are shortlisted will initially have a brief 15-minute phone interview with a member of the Lizard Centre's Talent Acquisition team, Olivia Sorokin. Successful applicants will then be invited to participate in a formal video interview via Teams.
