Job description
Role overview
Join Puketotara Farm near Kerikeri in a hands-on beef finishing role where you’ll take ownership of a block, strengthen your stock management capability, and grow your farming career with guidance from the Farm Manager. This position is focused on improving liveweight production while actively looking after animal health, pasture performance, and general farm upkeep.
You’ll also build confidence using the farm’s systems and software, including Excel, Gallagher animal performance tools, FarmIQ, and Farmax, alongside the wider processes used within Pāmu.
The farm
Puketōtara is an intensive bull beef unit operating a cell-grazing system. Stock are managed from 100kg calves through to finished two-year-old bulls. The farm is located about 20 minutes from Kerikeri, offering a strong lifestyle advantage with the school bus stopping at the gate for Kerikeri schools, and easy access to beaches and outdoor recreation.
What the job involves
In this role, you will help drive production outcomes while staying on top of day-to-day livestock care, pasture use, and farm maintenance. The position is well suited to someone who wants practical responsibility and the chance to develop within a supportive team.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for someone with practical farming experience, a positive mindset, and a genuine interest in learning more about intensive beef finishing. Experience in beef or drystock farming would be useful, although a dairy background may also translate well if you are keen to move into drystock work. The team is happy to support the right person with training and development.
You will ideally be comfortable working in a team, open to learning, and motivated to keep developing your skills in a supportive environment.
Employment conditions
To be considered for this permanent role, you must be available for an in-person interview and have unrestricted legal permission to work in New Zealand. Applications from people holding temporary work visas cannot be accepted for this permanent opportunity.
The successful applicant will also need to complete a drug and alcohol test and a criminal background check before appointment, as the business maintains a safe workplace standard.

This vacancy is offered by Pāmu, the trading name for Landcorp Farming Limited, and the person appointed will be employed by Landcorp Farming Limited.
