Job Overview
The Barista role involves preparing and serving a diverse range of coffee beverages, providing attentive customer service, and maintaining cafe operations to high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft various coffee drinks such as espresso-based, drip coffee, and specialty beverages.
- Welcome customers warmly and accurately take their orders.
- Operate, clean, and maintain coffee machines and grinders.
- Manage cash transactions and operate the Point of Sale system efficiently.
- Ensure work area cleanliness and comply with food safety and hygiene protocols.
- Advise customers on and promote coffee drinks and menu items.
- Support inventory control and restock supplies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members to maintain smooth cafe functioning and excellent service.
- Keep abreast of coffee trends and educate customers about products.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Barista experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of coffee varieties, brewing techniques, and daily cafe operations.
- Skilled in handling espresso machines and related cafe equipment.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service with a warm and engaging demeanor.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong focus on detail and dedication to quality.
- Basic proficiency in mathematics and cash handling.
- Food handling certification is an advantage.
- Physically capable of standing for prolonged durations and lifting items up to 25 pounds.
- Available to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Fluent in English; additional languages such as Arabic are beneficial.
