Job description

About the role

Join Kiwibank in a customer-facing banking support role where care, accuracy, and service quality are central. This position is a strong starting point for a career in financial services and can open doors into areas such as home lending, people leadership, or technology. The bank places a strong emphasis on learning, internal movement, and helping people build long-term careers.

You will handle everyday banking transactions, support customers with their enquiries, and contribute to a secure, compliant, and efficient branch experience. The role suits someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in detail, and wants to make a meaningful difference in a modern banking environment.

What you will do

  • Deliver friendly in-person support to customers with their banking needs.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other routine transactions accurately.
  • Assist customers with account-related questions and digital banking help.
  • Keep records up to date and work within banking policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Look for practical ways to improve efficiency and raise the quality of service.

What we are looking for

  • A strong eye for detail and confidence working with numbers.
  • Administrative and technical capability suited to banking operations.
  • Clear customer service skills and a helpful, professional approach.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team in a supportive environment.
  • A willingness to learn; you do not need to meet every requirement to be considered.

Working pattern

The position is fixed term until February 2027, with a total of 30 hours per week. The current schedule is Monday, Friday, and Saturday from 08:00 to 16:30, plus Sunday from 09:30 to 16:00. From February 2027, the role changes to a permanent 24-hour week covering Monday, Friday, and Saturday from 08:00 to 16:30.

Benefits

  • Part of a positive, people-focused and supportive workplace.
  • Access to excellent benefits, including wellbeing days.
  • Subsidised banking and insurance benefits.
  • Strong learning and development opportunities.
  • Opportunities for growth and career progression within the organisation.
