Role overview
Westpac New Zealand is hiring a full-time, permanent Bank Manager for its Matamata branch in Waikato. The position operates Monday to Friday and is focused on leading the branch with clear purpose, strong energy, and an emphasis on people, customers, and the local community.
What the role involves
Reporting to the Regional Manager, this position is accountable for the growth, leadership, and overall performance of the branch. The role requires building effective relationships within the bank and with external stakeholders to support business growth and customer retention. It also plays an important part in improving how the branch connects with customers through its physical space, technology, and team capability, so that staff, customers, business partners, and the wider community receive a consistently strong experience.
You will be guiding a varied team of Banking Advisers and Customer Service Representatives, helping them support customer needs across personal banking, business banking, and wealth services.
Skills and experience needed
The bank is seeking a leader who demonstrates care, courage, and clarity. Ideal candidates will have recent success in a leadership role, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, strong networking skills, deep knowledge of financial services, and proven experience driving change. A genuine commitment to coaching and developing people is essential. Knowledge of the local area is preferred. A tertiary qualification in Business is desirable, and an FA qualification is also preferred.
