Bank Cardiothoracic Physiotherapist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Bank Cardiothoracic Physiotherapist to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care at Cromwell Hospital in London. This part-time position offers primarily weekend and bank holiday shifts, with occasional weekday opportunities. The role focuses on supporting adult inpatients, many with complex cardiac and head and neck cancer conditions, mainly from intensive care units, cardiac and surgical wards, as well as rehabilitation and oncology.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage assigned patient caseloads, ensuring accountability for physiotherapy treatment plans.
• Utilize specialist assessment and clinical reasoning to develop individualized therapy programs tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Treat patients with diverse respiratory and cardiac conditions, including those undergoing cardiothoracic or major general surgery, along with acute and chronic respiratory or cardiac illnesses.
• Provide ongoing physiotherapy care for adult patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
• Assess and manage clinical risks effectively within your caseload, communicating concerns appropriately.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to evaluate new admissions and update care plans accordingly.
• Offer support to fellow weekend colleagues based on workload and clinical competency.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Physiotherapy with professional registration (HCPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) membership.
• Extensive experience in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, including managing acute respiratory cases, critical care, general surgery, and general medical patients.
• Familiarity with specialist respiratory devices and equipment.
