Role overview

Aramark is looking for a Baker to join its Food Services team in North Bay, Ontario. This position is centered on preparing baked goods and related food items using approved recipes, safe work practices, and commercial kitchen equipment. The role offers the opportunity to work in a service-focused environment while building skills in baking and food production.

Operational needs and client requirements may lead to differences in duties depending on the site.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a range of baked and food items by following production schedules and standardized recipes.
• Arrange the workstation with the ingredients, tools, and equipment needed for the shift.
• Measure, weigh, mix, chop, and otherwise prepare ingredients for production.
• Use ovens, mixers, stoves, and similar kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
• Handle knives and other kitchen utensils with care and in line with safe work practices.
• Store ingredients and finished products according to food safety and storage rules.
• Keep work surfaces, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitized.
• Deliver courteous service and maintain a professional attitude with guests, customers, clients, and teammates.
• Follow company safety requirements, including food sanitation and hygiene procedures.
• Protect company property and assets while performing daily duties.
• Be prepared for duties to shift or expand as business needs change.

Qualifications

• Prior work experience as a baker or in a similar kitchen role is preferred.
• Working understanding of baking techniques, production standards, and food safety practices such as proper handling, sanitation, and storage.
• Must be able to obtain required food safety certification(s).
• Basic arithmetic and counting ability are needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with good interpersonal skills, are important.
• This job may involve lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and long periods of walking or standing.
• Uniforms and personal protective equipment may be required.
