Job description
Role overview
Join Sedgwick Aviation Services as an Aviation Claims Surveyor and support global insurers with complex, high-value aviation claims on an international platform. The role is based in Singapore, with the position advertised in the UK for relocation to Singapore. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering compensation that is competitive and aligned with your skills, experience, and qualifications.
Sedgwick Aviation Services works with the aviation insurance market as a specialist global partner. Its regional teams bring together highly experienced aviation claims surveyors and deliver a wide range of technical services, including hull surveys, liability investigations, crisis and incident response, operational safety surveys, expert witness assistance, and salvage sales. This expertise supports the handling of challenging aviation claims and risk matters around the world.
What the job involves
After receiving the required training, you will manage aviation insurance claims ranging from relatively minor damage events to major aircraft accidents, along with related services for insurers worldwide. Your work will include investigating loss circumstances, attending accident sites when needed, assessing risk exposure, evaluating damage, coordinating with airlines, operators, repairers, and other stakeholders, and providing technical guidance to move claims toward closure.
Experience and background needed
The role calls for extensive aviation maintenance experience, along with strong technical knowledge of current-generation aircraft. You should also be comfortable preparing detailed reports, using business software confidently, and communicating clearly with a range of stakeholders. A pilot licence or experience in flight operations would be helpful, though it is not essential. International travel at short notice is part of the role, and English is the main business language; additional languages would be an advantage.
Compensation and benefits
You will receive a benefits package that includes a productivity incentive scheme, housing allowance, car allowance, pension scheme, and 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays. Health and wellbeing support includes private healthcare, life assurance, an employee assistance programme, and group income protection. Additional optional benefits include dental cover, cycle to work support, wellbeing apps, digital GP access, and discounts across a broad range of products and services.
Learning and career growth
Sedgwick highlights its training and development resources through Sedgwick University, including more than 15,000 on-demand courses, role-focused learning, and opportunities for formal education. The company states that it supports career progression, leadership growth, and long-term impact.
Additional information
Applicants from a wide range of backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including experienced professionals, people returning to work, and those earlier in their careers. A detailed CV should be submitted with a cover letter. Sedgwick states that it has zero tolerance for discrimination based on age, disability, gender identity, marital or family status, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation. Following the closing date, applications may be reviewed and shortlisted candidates may be invited to interview, either virtually or in person. The employer also notes that the job description is a general outline of the role and that duties may be changed or expanded at its discretion.
The company has been recognised as one of Newsweek’s America’s Greatest Workplaces National Top Companies, certified as a Great Place to Work®, and listed in Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Financial Services & Insurance.
