Automotive Yard Worker | Cleaner

Role overview

This full-time, on-site role is based in Fayetteville, GA and involves outdoor yard work in a salvage vehicle environment. The position focuses on preparing vehicles for yard placement by removing fluids, pulling usable parts, clearing debris, and supporting vehicle movement and staging.

Key duties

• Work outside in the yard to drain fluids and remove parts from vehicles before they are placed in the yard.
• Clear debris from vehicles before they are sent to the processing area.
• Remove batteries for testing and resale, and take charged batteries to the retail area.
• Safely extract fluids, lubricants, and components such as converters as needed to prepare vehicles.
• Take salvage vehicle parts including quarter panels, doors, lids, hoods, axles, and suspension components as required.
• Place vehicles in the yard as assigned and record vehicle details accurately and promptly.
• Operate a forklift or loader when needed to move vehicles from processing to the yard.
• Coordinate with the loader operator to stage vehicles and position them correctly in the yard.
• Dismantle tires as part of the yard preparation process.
• Keep the work area safe, organized, and clean.
• Follow EPA and OSHA requirements at all times.
• Use all required personal protective equipment.
• Follow company procedures and support ongoing quality improvement efforts.
• Take on additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Ability to carry out straightforward manual work and follow instructions.
• Willingness to work cooperatively with team members.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills.
• Availability for variable schedules, including weekends.
• No lifting restrictions.
• Comfort with heights and ladder use.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, bend, and climb for long periods.
• Capacity to lift and move up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions without shelter.
• Tolerance for both high and low temperatures.
• Comfort working around moving mechanical equipment and moderately loud noise.

Work environment

This job is performed outdoors and may involve exposure to moving machinery, weather extremes, and elevated work areas more than 15 feet high.
