Role overview

This position sits within the Gold Loan function and is responsible for ensuring that branch audits are completed within the expected turnaround time while maintaining the required level of quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess gold loan collateral using approved valuation techniques.
  • Carry out all necessary checks to confirm the purity of the pledged gold by using appropriate methods.
  • Make sure branch audits are completed within the defined turnaround time and quality standards.
  • Perform regular monthly reviews to examine the gold stock maintained at branches.
  • Review earlier audit reports, verify closure of observations, and highlight any pending non-compliance.
  • During audits, check branch security arrangements, including burglary alarms, CCTV systems, and weighing scales, and confirm that all security norms are being followed.
  • Be prepared to travel to other states or locations for audits and related work.
  • Conduct training sessions for branch staff on gold loan valuation to build general awareness.
  • Maintain complete integrity in all dealings and avoid any direct or indirect conflict of interest in transactions.
  • Protect company assets assigned for performing job duties.
  • Work confidently with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and deliver results under strict deadlines and challenging conditions.
  • Be willing to work extensively in the field and travel across the region at short notice.
  • Handle additional tasks assigned by the department as needed.
  • Show managerial effectiveness and support the team in building the same capability.
  • Contribute to team strategy and help drive business performance month after month.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of gold loan auditing and valuation practices.
  • Ability to conduct field-based work and travel frequently.
  • Good command over Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and professional judgment.

Education

A bachelor’s degree is required. Acceptable backgrounds include Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, Commerce, Arts, Science, Biology, Business, Computer Studies, or Management. An MBA is listed as a postgraduate qualification.
