Role Overview
This position is for an Auditor in the Gold Loan function at IDFC FIRST Bank, based in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. The role focuses on ensuring branch audits are completed on time and meet the required quality standards.
Purpose of the Role
The primary objective is to carry out branch-level audits within the defined turnaround time while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and strong control standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess gold loan collateral using approved valuation techniques.
- Carry out all necessary checks to verify collateral purity through the available methods.
- Ensure audits at branches are completed within the expected turnaround time and quality benchmarks.
- Conduct monthly systematic reviews to assess the gold stock held at branches.
- Review earlier audit reports, check compliance against observations, and highlight any gaps or violations.
- Perform security-related verification during audits, including checks on burglary alarms, CCTV systems, and weighing balances, and confirm that branch security processes are being followed.
- Be prepared to travel to other states or locations for audits and related assignments.
- Train branch staff on gold loan valuation basics to build awareness and understanding.
- Maintain complete integrity in all dealings and avoid any direct or indirect conflict of interest in transactions.
- Protect and responsibly use company assets provided for job duties.
- Use MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint effectively for reporting and documentation.
- Demonstrate strong work discipline and the ability to deliver under demanding conditions and tight timelines.
- Be willing to work extensively in the field and travel across the region at short notice.
- Support the department with additional tasks as assigned from time to time.
- Show managerial effectiveness and contribute to team capability building.
- Help shape and execute team strategy to support month-on-month business delivery.
Education and Experience
A graduate degree is required, with acceptable backgrounds including Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, Commerce, Arts, Science, Biology, Business, Computers, or Management. An MBA is preferred at the postgraduate level. The role requires 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
Additional Information
This is a full-time, on-site role. The job involves regular fieldwork, branch audits, and travel on short notice as required by the function.
