Role Overview

This position is focused on managing a portfolio of audit clients, with a strong concentration in the Financial Services sector. The role involves maintaining high standards of service and quality while overseeing the full audit cycle and providing strategic direction across engagements.

What You Will Do

  • Handle a varied portfolio of both new and existing audit clients and guide engagement teams through all phases of the audit process.
  • Provide informed guidance on technical matters such as accounting standards, risk evaluation, and audit responses while maintaining professional skepticism and a strong focus on accuracy and ethics.
  • Spot opportunities to improve how work is delivered, support the adoption of new tools and technologies, and help train teams on regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Build team capability through coaching, adaptability, and resilience, while ensuring audit work is staffed and resourced effectively.
  • Work closely with leaders across Jamaica, the wider Caribbean and Bermuda region, and global teams.

About the Audit & Assurance Team

The Audit & Assurance function supports the public interest by enabling trustworthy, evidence-based decisions. It contributes to confidence in government and capital markets through independent evaluation of financial and non-financial reporting, as well as internal controls. The team aims to provide assurance on the issues that matter most to stakeholders, including how an organization performs, the risks and opportunities tied to its business model, and its financial position and outlook.

Candidate Profile

This opportunity is available at either Manager or Senior Manager level. The requirements differ by level, and candidates should meet the criteria for the relevant position.

Manager Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, although an equivalent qualification such as ACCA is also acceptable.
  • An internationally recognized professional accounting credential such as ACA, ACCA, CA, or CPA is required.
  • Between 4 and 6 years of progressive audit experience is needed.
  • Project management capability is important, including prior experience leading engagements or parts of engagements, and coaching, mentoring, and reviewing junior staff work.

Senior Manager Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, although an equivalent qualification such as ACCA is also acceptable.
  • An internationally recognized professional accounting credential such as ACA, ACCA, CA, or CPA is required.
  • At least 7 years of progressive audit experience is required, including exposure to banking and insurance.
  • At least 3 years of proven team leadership experience, practice management experience, and experience building strong relationships with senior stakeholders is required.
  • Experience supporting business growth and leading large client engagements is expected.
