Team Overview
Global Operations provides end-to-end investment support services that help advance investment strategies. The function focuses on operational excellence and scalable delivery through digital innovation, covering deal advisory, valuation, trade and lifecycle operations, enterprise and core data management, data and analytics enablement, investment accounting, and sustainability reporting.
Within this function, Global Transaction Services handles trade support and settlement activities, while maintaining efficient controls and strong relationships with service providers such as banks and trading partners.
Role Summary
The Fund Repatriation Associate will be responsible for ensuring that proceeds are identified, checked, and returned in a timely and well-controlled manner. This role supports effective cash management, sound governance, and accurate recordkeeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Track SPV bank accounts and monitor incoming cash flows to spot proceeds that need to be repatriated.
- Review the nature of each receipt and determine the right repatriation path, taking operational, tax, regulatory, and governance considerations into account.
- Make sure all cash receipts across multiple SPV entities are identified and validated without delay.
- Work with Tax and Treasury partners to confirm the repatriation structure and recipient instructions, including the upstreaming method, timing, and currency or FX approach.
- Process repatriation transactions using internal investment processing systems, ensuring the amounts, value dates, and beneficiary details are correct.
- Keep complete records and comply with internal governance and control standards for every repatriation activity.
- Share repatriation status updates and ageing information when requested by the Treasury team.
- Coordinate closely with Treasury to keep cash repatriation flows efficient and remove any process bottlenecks.
- Look for ways to simplify, automate, and improve the repatriation workflow.
Requirements
- A degree is required, along with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience for the Associate level or 5 to 7 years for the Senior Associate level in middle- or back-office operations and cash management.
- Ability to analyse proceeds and decide on the most suitable repatriation route while considering operational, tax, and regulatory implications.
- Strong accuracy, discipline, and attention to detail to ensure transactions are completed correctly and on time.
- Good collaboration skills to work effectively across Tax, Treasury, and other internal stakeholders.
- A process-oriented and systems-savvy mindset, with comfort using investment processing platforms and spotting opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for monitoring and repatriating proceeds promptly.
- Well organised and capable of handling several SPV transactions at once while meeting deadlines and priorities.
- Clear communication and documentation abilities.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, initiative, and teamwork.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office tools.
- Data literacy is an advantage.
- Experience with analytics and data visualisation tools such as Qlik Sense and Tableau is an added advantage.
