Role overview

This position is for an Associate Quality Assurance Analyst in the Technology department based in Bangalore, India. The role suits someone who is proactive, enthusiastic, and technically strong, with experience testing CAD-related applications for 2D and 3D visualization and configuration, along with a solid understanding of quality assurance practices and Agile ways of working.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and run detailed testing approaches, test plans, and test cases for CAD-oriented applications involving 2D and 3D visualization and configuration.
  • Prepare quality reports, test documentation, requirements traceability materials, and technical support documents.
  • Create presentations, diagrams, process flows, and other project materials, and help demonstrate core products and solutions.
  • Help ensure QA practices are followed effectively inside the Scrum team.
  • Investigate root causes of defects and put corrective actions in place to reduce repeat issues.
  • Set up and maintain test environment configurations.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, developers, data specialists, and other stakeholders to align priorities and delivery expectations.
  • Take on additional tasks as needed to support business goals.
  • Work with internal automation tools.
  • Participate actively in Agile events such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Guide and support team members on QA techniques, tools, and Agile practices.
  • Encourage a strong quality-first approach and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist with release planning and ensure quality checks and Definition of Done standards are met.

Required qualifications and experience

  • Experience testing applications, including 2D/3D CAD customization tools and web applications, in a large-scale, fast-moving environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, computer science, or information technology.
  • Working knowledge of MCAD, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of engineering concepts and CAD/CAE tools used for modeling.
  • Strong background in software quality assurance.
  • At least 3 years of experience with QA practices and Agile methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with requirements gathering, product acceptance, technical documentation, and end-user training.
  • Background in testing, implementing, and supporting CAD software solutions.
  • Experience using automation testing tools.
  • Familiarity with regression testing.
  • Strong capability in 3D solid modeling and prototyping, including isometric, section, and assembly drawings.
  • Detail-focused, results-oriented, and collaborative, with strong written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good understanding of programming concepts to identify automation opportunities in software processes.

Additional requirements

  • Total software testing experience of 2 to 4 years, with 2+ years testing CAD applications being an advantage; alternatively, 3+ years of CAD design experience combined with strong software testing knowledge.
  • Strong interest in software testing.
  • Practical experience with Agile delivery methods such as Scrum or Kanban, along with Jira.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on varied problems.
  • Ability to quickly understand requirements, consider different approaches, and recommend solutions.
  • Preference for candidates who can work UK or US shifts.

Preferred but not essential

  • Experience testing 3D applications and a solid understanding of 3D visualization.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience with desktop application automation.
  • Interest in or knowledge of user experience and usability standards.
  • Certifications in software testing standards and qualifications.
  • Certification in Agile methodologies.
