Position Overview

This role offers the chance to lead the analytical operations of a dynamic multifamily investment platform. The Associate will be responsible for underwriting acquisition and development projects, drafting investment memorandums, and liaising directly with lenders and capital partners, working closely with senior leadership and handling transactions promptly.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze multifamily acquisition and development deals by constructing detailed financial models including development budgets, operational pro formas, and return analyses.
• Perform market and comparable rent and sales research alongside sensitivity studies to inform investment choices.
• Develop, sustain, and optimize underwriting models and tools utilized throughout the platform.
• Compose investment memorandums that detail transaction benefits, risks, and structures for executive team review.
• Create presentation materials and decks targeted at lenders, investors, and other capital partners.
• Assist capital raising efforts through preparation of financing documentation and responding to due diligence inquiries from lenders and investors.
• Engage in discussions and meetings with brokers, lenders, equity partners, and other external stakeholders.
• Support due diligence processes, transaction closings, and track asset performance after acquisition.
• Collaborate with the real estate credit team on underwriting and origination analyses as needed for deal flow.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Between 3 to 5 years experience within real estate investment banking, private equity, or institutional multifamily acquisition or development.
• Expertise in advanced financial modeling using Microsoft Excel, capable of creating underwriting models from scratch.
• Experience in drafting investment or credit memoranda for institutional evaluation.
• Proven skills in AI tools, particularly with Claude, including setting up custom agents to automate research, analysis, and reporting tasks.
• Solid understanding of real estate capital markets including debt and equity structuring.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for engaging directly with lenders and investors.

Ideal Background

Candidates often have backgrounds in real estate investment banking or private equity, or have worked on acquisitions or development teams at institutional multifamily firms. Familiarity with both equity underwriting and real estate credit is highly advantageous.
