The position works closely with partners across design, supply, development, retail, and other functions in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with the Merchant to back seasonal product direction and help build line plans that reflect customer demand, business strategy, and financial objectives.
  • Study selling patterns, market intelligence, and consumer behavior to build a deeper understanding of the customer and support assortment choices.
  • Use sales results, forecasts, bookings, and sell-through information to guide recommendations and data-led decisions.
  • Keep merchandising timelines current and ensure key deliverables and cross-functional deadlines stay on track.
  • Manage sample activity, including tracking, proto review coordination, and capturing feedback for product revisions.
  • Prepare and maintain market-facing tools, assortment documents, and internal decks for sales, retail, and cross-functional use.
  • Review merchandising reports such as projections, booking summaries, sales results, and post-season analyses to surface risks, opportunities, and patterns.
  • Track brand, consumer, and competitor developments on an ongoing basis to remain current on market direction and customer preference shifts.
  • Use analytical thinking to connect data and trends back to shopper behavior and overall business performance.
  • Contribute to process enhancements that improve efficiency, clarity, and team workflows.
  • Partner with teams including Design, Product Development, Supply Chain, Raw Materials, Marketing, and Sales to ensure coordinated execution.
  • Support merchandising needs in international markets and gain exposure to regional differences and customer nuances.
  • Handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment while staying detail-oriented and solution-focused.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in merchandising, buying, planning, or product development; internship experience may also be considered.
  • BA/BS degree in merchandising, business, arts/sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong collaboration, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid analytical thinking and conceptual creativity.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of retail math.
  • Customer-centered mindset with interest in how product choices affect shopper experience and performance.
