An established investment bank is hiring an Associate for its Financial Restructuring team in Frankfurt. Key responsibilities
- Support live restructuring and distressed engagements across the DACH region for corporates, creditors and other stakeholders.
- Develop and take ownership of advanced financial models covering liquidity, capital structure, recovery and valuation work.
- Perform due diligence on distressed businesses, financing structures and restructuring alternatives.
- Draft client-facing materials, restructuring proposals, term sheets and stakeholder presentations in both German and English.
- Assist in negotiations among companies, lenders, bondholders and other creditor constituencies.
- Lead and coordinate Analysts while working with legal counsel, management teams and external counterparties.
- Contribute to origination efforts and business development within the German-speaking market.
Candidate profile
- Prior experience in financial restructuring, either in investment banking or restructuring advisory, is required.
- Approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant experience is expected for this Associate-level position.
- Strong command of both German and English is essential due to the client base and frequent interaction with stakeholders.
- Advanced financial modelling, analytical capability and capital structure knowledge are important.
- Understanding of distressed situations, German restructuring frameworks such as StaRUG, and debt instruments is highly beneficial.
- Excellent writing, communication and stakeholder-management skills are needed, along with the ability to stay composed under pressure.
- A strong academic background is preferred, and professional credentials such as CFA are an advantage.
