Role Overview

Botanica is looking for a commercially strong and experienced Associate Director – Commercial to oversee revenue expansion, business development, sales, marketing, and strategic partnerships across its horticulture and landscaping portfolio. The position will be central to scaling operations, improving market reach, and supporting sustainable profitability across landscaping, nursery operations, plant maintenance, soil products, indoor plants, and floral services.

Business Development & Growth

  • Identify and pursue new opportunities across landscaping, plant maintenance, nursery operations, indoor plants, soil products, and floral services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients, developers, hotels, malls, government organizations, event planners, florists, and retail partners.
  • Lead proposal creation, commercial discussions, and contract closure.
  • Create partnerships and distribution networks that support growth objectives.

Sales & Revenue Management

  • Design and implement sales plans aimed at meeting revenue and profitability goals.
  • Handle pricing, quotations, and commercial terms.
  • Track pipeline activity, sales results, and forecast performance.
  • Manage important accounts and sustain strong client relationships.
  • Improve customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

Marketing & Brand Development

  • Shape and execute marketing plans that align with business goals.
  • Enhance the company’s brand position and visibility in the market.
  • Oversee digital marketing activity, social media efforts, and promotional campaigns.
  • Support product introductions and seasonal marketing initiatives.

Commercial Strategy & Planning

  • Develop the overarching commercial strategy for the business.
  • Carry out market studies, competitor reviews, and analysis of industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities for new products, services, and market segments.
  • Contribute to budgeting, revenue forecasting, and profitability assessment.
  • Set and monitor commercial KPIs and performance measures.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Build, guide, and develop a high-performing commercial team.
  • Work closely with Operations, Procurement, Finance, HR, and Production teams.
  • Promote process enhancements and commercial best practices.
  • Represent Botanica in client meetings, exhibitions, and industry gatherings.

Qualifications & Experience

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related discipline is required. An MBA or master’s degree is preferred. Candidates should bring 10 to 15 years of experience in commercial, sales, business development, or related leadership roles, including at least 5 years in a senior management capacity. Background in landscaping, horticulture, agriculture, nursery operations, or a similar industry is highly desirable. The role also requires a proven record of generating revenue growth, managing strategic client relationships, handling contracts, managing tenders, and negotiating commercial terms. Experience with large-scale projects, B2B customers, and government entities is important.
