Job description
Position Summary
The Associate Designer will play an essential role in the development and delivery of seasonal collections and chase programs for men’s and children’s underwear and loungewear. This position involves generating creative artwork for patterns, trims, and graphics, reviewing pre-production and top samples, and collaborating closely with vendors throughout the development process.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare CAD illustrations for internal presentations, retailer approvals, and licensor submissions.
- Support brand design efforts by maintaining the color palette and designing prints and patterns.
- Develop trim and artwork pages to be included in technical specification packs.
- Produce technical garment sketches for inclusion in tech packs.
- Liaise with suppliers to manage development concerns such as sample submissions, feedback, and approvals.
- Attend fittings alongside the Technical Design team to ensure product alignment.
- Work collaboratively with teams including Production, Sourcing, Technical Design, and Sales departments.
- Participate in trend seminars and fabric exhibitions to stay current on market movements.
- Conduct quarterly market research and shopping excursions to inform design decisions.
- Organize, label, and prepare product samples for review sessions and shipping to retailers.
- Create physical color cards for use in presentations and approvals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Formal education in Fashion Design.
- At least two years of design experience, ideally within men’s and/or children’s apparel sectors.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with knit fabrics; underwear design experience is advantageous.
- Strong aptitude for color theory and color coordination.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is beneficial.
- Preference for candidates with print design experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment.
- Experience using Airtable is an advantage.
- Excellent organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary starts at $60,000 and is commensurate with relevant experience. This salary does not encompass the full benefits package. Additional employee benefits will be discussed during interviews by the Human Resources team.
