Associate Creative Director, UX/UI Design at Activision

Role Overview

The Associate Creative Director for UX/UI Design will be responsible for directing and executing the creative vision for Activision's digital platforms, which include callofduty.com, activision.com, mobile applications, and other connected experiences used by players. This position has a hands-on leadership requirement, blending creative management, team mentorship, and direct design involvement. Collaboration with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and franchise teams is essential to creating user experiences that meet player expectations and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the creative direction and UX/UI strategy across Activision's digital platforms and experiences.
• Lead the strategy and execution for significant web and app design projects.
• Engage in both leadership and hands-on design work for complex initiatives.
• Mentor designers through feedback, coaching, critiques, and guidance.
• Maintain high standards for UX quality, visual and interaction design, accessibility, and design systems.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of design with business needs.
• Partner with senior leadership to establish long-term digital platform strategies.
• Improve team processes and collaboration models to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Advocate for player-centered design using research, usability testing, analytics, and iterative improvements.
• Contribute to UX architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and solving design challenges as required.
• Keep abreast of the latest trends in digital product design, gaming experiences, and emerging technologies.

Required Experience and Skills

• At least 10 years of experience in UX/UI, product design, or digital creative leadership roles.
• Proven track record leading large-scale digital product experiences on both web and mobile platforms.
• A portfolio showcasing strong UX thinking, visual design craftsmanship, systemic problem solving, and hands-on design execution.
• Experience mentoring and leading creative teams in a dynamic product environment.
• Balanced strategic leadership capabilities and practical design contribution skills.
• Deep knowledge of UX strategy, interaction and visual design, accessibility guidelines, and modern workflows.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to engage effectively with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Project Management.
• Experience creating scalable digital experiences and contributing to design systems for platform consistency.
• Passion for gaming and player-focused digital entertainment experiences.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary range between $145,820 and $269,768, reflecting base pay for U.S. locations and new hires, subject to factors like experience and location.
