Role overview
The Associate Clinical Admin position supports the ancillary referral workflow by handling orders and prior authorizations efficiently. In this role, you will help connect clients, vendors, and patients by checking eligibility, arranging appointments, and coordinating the supplies needed for care. Your work directly supports timely and accurate delivery of medical services.
Key responsibilities
- Process inbound and outbound ancillary orders and prior authorization requests.
- Act as the main point of contact for referrals through phone and electronic channels.
- Confirm patient eligibility and route requests to the right queue or team.
- Use computer systems and applications to locate and review relevant information.
- Assess whether authorization is required for specific medical services.
- Use automated resources to look up rules, procedures, and regulations.
- Reach out to the appropriate parties when additional clarification is needed.
- Set appointments and share appointment details with patients.
- Place orders for medical supplies and durable medical equipment through vendors.
- Enter orders accurately so billing can be processed correctly.
- Meet productivity goals, including handling approximately 6 orders or 45 intakes per day.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or comparable work experience.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- At least 1 year of experience in an office, claims, or customer service setting.
- Background in a work environment that tracks productivity against metrics.
- Comfort working with Windows-based PC applications and learning complex systems.
- Ability to work full time within an 8:00 am to 8:00 pm EST schedule window.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime when needed.
- For remote work, sensitive company documents must be protected appropriately.
- A private dedicated workspace is required for telecommuting.
- Access to an approved high-speed internet connection is required.
- Preferred background includes call center experience.
- Preferred knowledge includes ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Preferred familiarity with durable medical equipment (DME).
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication abilities.
- Good organization and time management habits.
Compensation and benefits
This position offers hourly pay of $16.00 to $29.00, depending on experience and other relevant factors.
