About the role
SKIMS is a solutions-led brand known for redefining underwear, loungewear, and shapewear for the next generation. The brand continues to influence pop culture while setting a high bar for product, presentation, and customer experience.
As the Assistant Store Leader focused on Product, you will partner with the Store Leader to keep the store running smoothly, support strong commercial performance, and bring the product story to life through thoughtful visual merchandising and memorable customer interactions.
This position combines visual leadership with floor execution. You will guide merchandising standards, support product flow, and help drive results through active leadership on the sales floor.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the visual merchandising plan with the Store Leader, ensuring product presentation remains polished, consistent, and aligned with brand and business priorities.
- Champion a customer-first approach by shaping the floor layout and telling the product story through inclusive styling, innovation, and personalized service.
- Use store and product performance data to guide merchandising choices, highlight strong sellers, and improve placement and flow for weaker items.
- Keep the sales floor organized, shoppable, and aligned with size availability, replenishment needs, and overall customer experience standards.
- Respond quickly to trends and changing business needs by adjusting merchandising in the moment and supporting the team to do the same.
- Maintain high operational standards by ensuring the floor is clean, orderly, properly signed, and intentionally merchandised.
- Support all visual updates, product moves, mannequins, windows, signage, and floor sets.
- Train team members on visual standards, styling approaches, product knowledge, and new campaign launches.
- Serve as the product specialist in store and help build a team that can clearly speak to fit, fabric, and function.
- Coach selling behaviors that connect product features to customer needs in an authentic and effective way.
- Give ongoing styling and presentation feedback to help the team strengthen its eye for product placement.
- Work with HQ visual merchandising and allocation partners to share assortment feedback, product opportunities, and tool requirements.
- Manage visual supplies, tools, and display inventory so everything needed for daily execution is current and available.
- Maintain a strong presence during busy periods by directing the team, coaching in real time, and leading with pace and professionalism.
- Support store performance goals tied to KPIs, conversion, and guest satisfaction.
- Partner with leadership to plan and execute product-led store initiatives such as launches, capsule drops, and marketing rollouts.
- Build a culture of high standards, accountability, purposeful feedback, and shared ownership of the customer experience.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of experience in retail leadership, ideally with a strong emphasis on visual merchandising, styling, or customer experience.
- A demonstrated record of improving sales through merchandising decisions and effective floor leadership.
- Strong visual merchandising capability with the ability to create attractive, high-impact store displays.
- Awareness of industry trends and competitor activity, with the ability to apply those insights to product placement and merchandising changes.
- Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach teams toward business goals.
- Clear and effective communication skills, including the ability to set expectations, provide feedback, and handle challenges professionally.
- Strong alignment with the SKIMS brand, values, and service style.
- Ability to stand and remain active throughout the full scheduled shift and stay available to customers across the store.
- Ability to bend, reach, stretch, lift, carry, and move items up to 40 pounds throughout the shift.
- Open availability for a full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
- Not interested in being an influencer.
Benefits and total rewards
- Opportunity to join a fast-growing company with room for development, creativity, and impact.
- Competitive pay with a performance-based bonus structure.
- 401(k) plan.
