Job description

Job purpose

The Assistant Station Manager plays a key role in supporting the daily running of LRT stations. This is a busy, customer-facing role that calls for a service-first attitude, a pleasant manner, and the ability to handle multiple operational demands across train, station, and trackside activities.

What you will do

  • Help maintain a safe and secure commuting environment for passengers.
  • Deliver a high standard of commuter-focused service with attention to comfort and care.
  • Act quickly when delays or incidents occur, and manage them appropriately.
  • Take ownership of assigned critical work functions and key tasks with commitment, responsibility, and integrity.
  • Support station operations and daily service needs.
  • Provide friendly and effective customer service at the station.
  • Carry out security patrols within station areas.
  • Inspect station equipment and verify that it is functioning properly.
  • Respond promptly to alarms such as fire alarm and ESP alerts.
  • Manage crowd flow at station concourses and platforms.
  • Perform first-line recovery for trains, station equipment, and trackside equipment when needed.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to station operations.
  • Support train operations and related service requirements.
  • Offer customer service support onboard trains.
  • Operate revenue service trains, address train defects, and drive trains when required.
  • Carry out sweep train operations to confirm the system is safe before revenue service begins.
  • Conduct security sweeps onboard trains.
  • Follow rules, regulations, and procedures at all times.
  • Respond to rail incidents or accidents according to assigned duties.
  • Share operational and service updates with staff and commuters during incidents or accidents.
  • Support investigations into rail incidents and accidents.
  • Drive trains as directed by the Operations Control Centre.
  • Contribute ideas for process and workflow improvements that can strengthen reliability and operating efficiency.

Requirements

  • NITEC in an engineering discipline.
  • Willing to work a three-shift rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
  • No prior work experience is required; fresh applicants are welcome.
