Role overview
We are hiring an Assistant Restaurant Manager for a busy venue in Wetherill Park, New South Wales, Australia. In this role, you will support day-to-day restaurant operations, help guide the team, and contribute to delivering a consistently strong guest experience.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Restaurant Manager in running daily service and keeping operations on track.
- Lead and encourage both front-of-house and back-of-house teams to uphold food quality and service expectations.
- Coordinate staffing rosters, onboarding, training, and performance reviews.
- Track stock levels, manage inventory, and arrange supplier orders when required.
- Maintain compliance with food safety standards and help ensure the workplace stays clean and safe.
- Respond to customer questions, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving sales and overall profitability.
- Review sales information and prepare reports for senior management.
- Act on behalf of the Restaurant Manager when needed and make operational decisions to keep service running smoothly.
Qualifications and requirements
- Background in restaurant management or a similar supervisory position in a high-volume dining environment.
- Confident leadership ability with experience guiding a varied team.
- Strong focus on customer service and creating positive dining experiences.
- Familiarity with restaurant management systems and POS platforms.
- Well-developed organisation and time management capabilities.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and respond quickly under pressure.
- Working knowledge of food safety rules and a strong commitment to hygiene.
- Experience managing inventory and controlling costs.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- High school completion or an equivalent qualification is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related discipline is preferred.
- Food Safety Certification.
- Awareness of trends in the food and beverage sector.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
